Cubs

Our aim in the Cub section is to provide a progressive and fun programme for young people to learn practical skills while having fun and adventure with friends through challenges, badgework, activities, trips, camping and creative sessions.

The Cub Section is the second section of the Scouting Movement for boys and girls aged 8-10½. We run two separate pack evenings with over 50 young people in our two packs who meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
Most Cubs move up from our two Beaver colonies, although if you are new to Scouting you can still join us through our waiting list . To check for availability, please get in touch.

For Cubs, fun, excitement, learning and adventure are key aims. There are many opportunities to join in the fun and adventure through our exciting programme which covers fitness, global awareness and beliefs; whilst allowing the Cubs to be creative and get involved in their local communities. Cubs are introduced to exciting outdoor skills and take part in adventurous activities, as well as camps and residential experiences. We normally run around three camps/residential weekends a year which often involve 2 nights away. There are lots of badges to be earned which foster self-belief and confidence and pride when the Cubs complete them.
We are always looking for parent help on evenings and activities so if you would like to get involved as a helper or even become a Leader then please get in touch.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
