Explorers

Thunderous Taiho Explorer Scout Unit meets in the Llandaff North Scout Hall on a Weds Night.

TT ESU is the newest Unit in the District and started in May last year. We currently have 13 explorers aged 14 -15.

The Unit tries to focus on skills… maps, tents, fires… and is out most weeks walking somewhere or burning something! We camp regularly, including Winter Camps, as well as attending bigger events like Evolution camp in Cirencester and Wings2020 in Windsor (international Jamboree in UK).

Thunderous Taiho focus on three main areas:

1. Achieving the Welsh Dragon Award (Camping challenges in every month of the year!)

2. Achieving the Platinum and Diamond Chief Scout Awards (The highest awards in Scouting)

3. Supporting the Explorers through DofE Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards (Expeditions that also boost your CV)

4. The Scouts Survival Skills Badge (Practical skills for future adventures!)

If you are interested in achieving the highest awards in Scouting or developing your bushcraft and practical skill then please get in touch.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
