Scouts

Build confidence, resilience and a sense of adventure

Our Scout Troop welcomes girls and boys aged 10 ½ to 14; many of whom started as Beavers before moving up to Cubs and then Scouts. If you are new to Scouting you are very welcome to join us please go to the join page and send us your details.

Our Section has over 20 Scouts which attend each week. They meet on a Thursday evening in The Scout Hall in Llandaff North.

All young people in 2nd llandaff are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme, including adventurous activities such as climbing, as well Scouting skills such as camping, survival, cooking, team and personal creative and physical challenges.

Scouts aims to build and develop young people’s confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills, as well as encouraging them to explore their beliefs and attitudes and be creative. It offers them the independence to put these skills into practice at camps and trips away. There are a number of challenges awards and activity badges that Scouts can gain during their time in the section to recognise their achievements.

Being outdoors is important and significant part of the programme for both adventurous activity, team work and traditional Scouting skills, such as camping, and cooking.

Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life.

“Scouting has given me a fantastic opportunity to do lots of activities and things that people who are not in Scouts don’t get to do. It’s also about having fun with good friends”.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
